Counselling for International Parents
I’m Emily, a British-born psychosocial counsellor providing psychosocial support in English, in Switzerland and online.
Before training as a counsellor, I worked in education in the UK, France and Switzerland. My own experience of building a life abroad, including becoming a parent while living outside my home country, and juggling the demands of work and family, has given me an appreciation of how complex and challenging life transitions can be.
These experiences, alongside my professional training, inform my interest in supporting parents through challenges and periods of adjustment.
Perhaps you've relocated internationally and are finding the adjustment more difficult than anticipated. Maybe you're balancing family responsibilities with work, navigating a career change, recovering from burnout, or questioning aspects of your identity and direction.
Even positive changes can bring uncertainty, loss, stress, and self-doubt. Relocation, parenthood, shifts in identity, changing support networks, and balancing family and professional responsibilities can all affect how we experience ourselves and our relationships.
Counselling can offer space to explore what you're experiencing, understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop ways of moving forward that feel right for you.
